I have made so many plans to bring happiness, but all they do is bring distress and pain twenty-four hours a day. I am being dashed over and over by this ocean of material suffering.
Lust, anger, greed, envy, illusion,and madness. They are causing me so much fear, and in this way this life is coming to an end.
Being pulled back and forth by these two thugs of speculation and fruitive activities have tricked me, cheated me, and now thrown me into this ocean of misery.
(Due to my past fruitive activities, I have fallen into this great ocean of nescience, and I do not find any means of getting out. Day and night my heart burns from the poison of these worldly activities, and so my mind is not at all satisfied.)
My lord Krishna you are my only friend my ocean of mercy. Please lift this fallen servant and place me under the shelter of your lotus feet,
I have forgotten you over and over.
I have forgotten you.

tava kara-kamala-vare nakham adbhuta-śṛńgaḿ
dalita-hiraṇyakaśipu-tanu-bhṛńgam
keśava dhṛta-narahari-rūpa jaya jagadīśa hare
"I offer my obeisances to Lord Narasimha, who gives joy to Prahlada Maharaja and whose nails are like chisels on the stone like chest of the demon Hiranyakasipu.
Lord Nrsimha is here and also there. Wherever I go Lord Nrsimha is there. He is in the heart and is outside as well. I surrender to Lord Nrsimha, the origin of all things and the supreme refuge.
O Kesava! O Lord of the universe! O Lord Hari, who have assumed the form of half-man, half-lionl All glories to You! lust as one can easily crush a wasp between one's fingernails, so in the same way the body of the wasp like demon Hiranyakasipu has been ripped apart by the wonderful pointed nails on Your beautiful lotus hands."
